Mojave Chamber to hear park grant briefing at June 27 meet
MOJAVE —A briefing on efforts to qualify for a grant to upgrade Mojave’s East Park will be presented at the Thursday, June 27, Mojave Chamber of Commerce meeting. County parks officials are seeking a slice of $8 million dollars in Proposition 68, the Clean Water and Parks Act Funding for the park on O Street next to Mojave High School, said chamber President Doug Clipperton. The park is one of five Kern County parks eligible to apply for the funds. County public works officials will also brief the chamber on plans for other community improvements at the meeting.
The meeting will follow the 10 a.m. groundbreaking for a new Mojave Transit Center at
Mono and K Streets.
A no-host buffet lunch will be served beginning at 11:45 a.m. Mojave Chamber of
Commerce meetings are open to the public. The Mariah Comfort Inn is located at 1385 Barstow Highway next to the entrance to the Mojave Air & Space Port.
