LA County Supervisor Kathryn Barger to Present Homes 4 Families with check at Hard Hats for Heroes Build

WHAT: Los Angeles County Supervisor Kathryn Barger will be presenting a check to Homes 4 Families in support of their 56-home Palmdale Veteran Enriched Neighborhood project, at their annual Hard Hats for Heroes Build.

EVENT: Los Angeles County Supervisor Kathryn Barger will be presenting a check for her second installment of the $350,000 contribution she made to the Palmdale Veteran Enriched Neighborhood(r) community. This presentation will kick off Homes 4 Families’ annual Hard Hats for Heroes build which brings volunteers and donors to help build this affordable home ownership community. Some of the over 125 people who will be in attendance include U.S. military veterans and active-duty service members, and volunteer groups from AV Hospital, Palmdale Regional Medical Center, and Edwards Air Force Base.

BACKGROUND: Homes 4 Families empowers low-income veterans and their families to enter the middle class through affordable, full-equity homeownership combined with holistic services that build resiliency, self-sufficiency and economic growth. Through its outcome-proven Veteran Enriched Neighborhood(r) model, the nonprofit provides servicemen, servicewomen and their families with comprehensive wraparound services that equip them to succeed in civilian life, including financial education, therapeutic workshops, trauma-informed programs and veteran-to-veteran support. With more than ten years of research-backed experience and success, Homes 4 Families works closely with the California Department of Veterans Affairs and others to build permanent, thriving veteran communities.
