  • The SBA, in partnership with the Sara Blakely Foundation, has launched a nationwide prize competition to find the most innovative products and services
    that help impact and empower women’s lives.

    Join the COC SBDC, as they host a local InnovateHER 2017 Challenge competition, providing an opportunity for individuals, entrepreneurs, and business owners to
    participate in a Pitch Competition with a panel of judges to select a winner for submission to the SBA InnovateHER Semi-final Round.  A total of up to
    10 local competition winners(nationwide) will be selected from the Semi-final Round and reviewed by the SBA.  The Finalists selected by the SBA will be offered
    the opportunity to participate in the InnovateHER Final Round Challenge to be held in September 2017.  Finalists will be responsible for covering their own travel costs for
    the national competition.  Finalists will make a live marketing pitch to a panel of expert judges, who will select the three finalists best satisfying the Challenge Criteria below:

    • A product or service that:
      • has a measurable impact on the lives of women and families (30% weight)
      • has the potential for commercialization (40% weight)
      • fills a need in the marketplace (30% weight)
    • Cash prizes totaling $70,000 will be awarded to the three highest-rated contestants in the Final Round of the Challenge:
      • 1st Place – $40,000
      • 2nd Place – $20,000
      • 3rd Place – $10,000

Event Registration required and application must be completed to determine eligibility for the local Pitch Competition and InnovateHER 2017 Challenge.  The application will be emailed
after online registration completed.

Enter the College of the Canyons campus from Rockwell Canyon Road onto University Center Drive. Follow University Center Drive to where it ends (near the umbrella bench area)here you will find the parking kiosk lot#14. Purchase a $3 parking pass, place it on your dashboard and park in any “COMPACT” parking spot. Lot 14 is located closest to the University Center, the class will take place on the third floor room #301. Be sure to arrive 30 minutes early, this is a large campus with many students. Pre-registration is required.
